This separation is important to avoid physical damage such as scratches, bending, or impact that can occur if the boards were to move freely within the box. The cardboard box itself provides mechanical protection from external forces and environmental factors during shipping and storage. The combination of the ESD bags and the compartmentalized box offers comprehensive protection for the PCBA units, ensuring they remain intact and fully operational upon arrival. In addition, the packaging is typically labelled with warnings indicating that the contents are sensitive to electrostatic discharge.
