Description: A smoke and heat stimuli head unit. Made of moulded plastic. Incorporating a smoke capsule, PCBS, a stepper motor, a smoke generator (miniature heat exchanger) assembly ani a heat testing assembly. With moulded silicon membrane around the rim of a transparent top plastic cup and a moulded silicon keypad on the handle. Designed to be placed over a smoke/heat detector in order to set it off by generating a synthetic 'smoke' from the liquid held in the smoke capsule. The liquid is pumped out of the smoke capsule using a small peristaltic pump into a heat exchanger assembly which turns it to a vapour. The heat exchanger uses a heated nickel wire in a capillary tube to rapidly heat the liquid to form the vapour, under the control of a microcontroller. The vapour is condensed into small liquid particles which are suspended in the air and blown by a small fan out of a duct in the direction of the detector under test. The product also generates a small jet of heated air, which is blown out of the duct at the detector.
